IEC61131-3 M7 Cortex PLC SlimLine LogicLab CPU Unit IEC61131-3

The M7 SlimLine Cortex CPU module is a central process unit of the programmable controller (PLC) SlimLinefamily. It is equipped with a powerful Cortex M7 processor that, with its 2Mb of Flash memory and a 300MHz clock, breaks the limits of user program size and program execution speed.

The module can be fitted with mikroBUS™ ⁽¹) cardsfrom MikroElektronika d.o.o. and has the RTCmodule as standard on the "Extended" versions.

Extremely compact

The module is engineered in a compact UL94 V-0 self-extinguishing and recyclable PC/ABS container; it is directly pluggable on DIN rails according to EN50022/IEC60715 standards and accepts supply voltages in the range 10-30Vdc.
The module allows the management of the expansion I/O modulesSlimLine through the I2C™ expansion bus (Fast mode).
Like the other CPUs in the family, it incorporates a high efficiency power supply, sized to connect up to 16 PLC expansion modules.
To connect the expansion units to the CPU Unit, use the appropriate corded bus expansion cables (Code CBL074*000/CBL045*000) to be ordered separately.
I/O and power supply connections are made through removable screw connectors for easier maintenance.

Programmability according to IEC61131-3

The device is programmable in the 5 languages provided by the IEC61131-3 standard, through the development tool LogicLaba completely free programming tool. A wide set of functions and function blocks is available (go to the list).

Integrated web server

The compact PLC module has an integrated web server that provides configuration and general system status information as well as fully user-configurable web pages. The "responsive" technology makes the pages perfectly navigable even from mobile devices.

FRAM technology

Thanks to the use of non-volatile memories in FRAM technology (ferroelectric RAM), it has been possible to eliminate the battery, thus minimizing maintenance and environmental impact at the end of the product life and eliminating the constraints imposed by the directives for the transport of products containing batteries.
FRAM technology also guarantees a practically unlimited number of writing cycles, thus improving the reliability of the system, and a very low power consumption even during the writing phases.

This CPU is equipped with:

• 2 RS232 COM Ports
• 1 MicroUSB Host/Device port (extended versions)
• RTC High Precision (extended versions)
• Fieldbus RS485 or CAN bus (depending on version)
• 2 isolated digital inputs (1 of which can also be used as a counter)
• 2 Isolated digital outputs (can also be used as PWM)
• 2 12bit analog inputs (extended versions)
• 1 port 1-wire (extended versions)
• 1 micro-SD card slot
• 1 I2C™ expansion bus (Fast mode)

The CPU module is available in different versions:

• Lite: 2 RS232C, 1 Ethernet, 4 digital I/O,
• RS485: 2 RS232C, 4 digital I/O, 1 Ethernet, 1 RS485 isolated.
• CAN: 2 RS232C, 4 digital I/O, 1 Ethernet, 1 CAN isolated.
• Extended RS485: 2 RS232C, 1 USB, 4 digital I/O, 2 Analog In, 1 1-Wire, 1 Ethernet, 1 RS485 isolated.
• Extended CAN: 2 RS232C, 1 USB, 4 digital I/O, 2 Analog In, 1 1-Wire, 1 Ethernet, 1 CAN isolated.

Thanks to the support of Modbus RTU, ASCII and TCP protocol, operator terminals and/or SCADA software can be connected.
The RS485 versions have the following drivers Fail-safe and high impedance, this allows you to connect up to 128 devices on the same network.

The PLC SlimLine family has been conceived with the aim of safeguarding the investment in programming made by the Customer both in terms of portability to/from other platforms and in terms of protection against copying and fraudulent use of the applications developed (see this link). An OEM version is also available, for those users who want to make semi-custom equipment extremely cost sensitive and/or without the Elsist brand.

Notes:

(1) On RS485 and CAN versions, the mikroBUS™ slot is used by the fieldbus management module.
Some mikroBUS cards may not be supported and/or firmware changes may be required.
