The SlimLine Compact Ethernet LogicLab OEM CPU represents the entry-level, LAN Ethernet-connected, programmable controller (PLC) SlimLinefamily and can be supplied separately as an OEM module for system integrators.
The device is equipped with 6 digital inputs, 4 digital outputs (relay or static) and 2 analog inputs and allows the management of the expansion I/O SlimLinemodules through the I2C™ expansion bus (Fast mode) as well as customer developed boards.
Like the other CPUs of the family, it incorporates a high efficiency power supply, sized for the connection of up to 4 expansion modules (to be verified according to the connected module).
The device is equipped with web server integrated able to make available web pages of configuration and general information on the status of the system, as well as web pages fully configurable by the user (accessible via USB).
At the hardware level, this CPU is equipped with:
- 1 RS232 COM port
- 1 Ethernet Port 10/100BaseT(x) RJ45
- 6 Isolated digital inputs (1 counter 10 kHz)
- 2 Analog inputs 0-10Vdc
- 4 Isolated digital outputs (relay or static)
- 1 I2C™ expansion bus (Fast mode)
Thanks to the use of non-volatile memory in FRAM technology (ferroelectric RAM), it has been possible to eliminate the battery, thus minimizing maintenance and environmental impact at the end of the product's life and eliminating the constraints imposed by directives for the air transport of products containing batteries.
FRAM technology also guarantees a practically unlimited number of writing cycles, thus improving the reliability of the system, and a very low power consumption even during the writing phases.
The card is available in 3 versions:
- Relay version: 1 RS232C, 6 In Digital, 2 In Analog, 4 Out Relay, I2C™ Bus, 1 Ethernet port.
- Static version: 1 RS232C, 6 In Digital, 2 In Analog, 4 Out Static AC/DC, I2C™ Bus, 1 Ethernet port.
- Zero-cross SSR version: 1 RS232C, 6 In Digital, 2 In Analog, 4 Out AC SSR ZC, Bus I2C™, 1 Ethernet port.
The appropriate pre-wired bus expansion cables (Code CBL074**00) to be ordered separately must be used to connect the expansion modules.
I/O and power supply connections are made through removable screw connectors for easier maintenance (to be ordered separately).
The PLC SlimLine family has been conceived with the aim of safeguarding the investment in programming made by the Customer both in terms of portability to/from other platforms and in terms of protection against copying and fraudulent use of the applications developed (see this link).
A wide range of libraries and function blocks (FBs) are available that are suitable for many functions.
There are also some available optionally, for the use of which it is necessary to obtain the unlock code at the MID (Manufacturer ID) or DID (Device ID) level. See the list.
The CPU is programmable in the 5 languages provided by the IEC61131-3 standard, through the development tool LogicLab, a completely free programming tool.
This device is also a viable alternative to Arduino boards and, for certain applications, to Raspberry Pi. To compare the differences from these systems see this link.
Thanks to the support of Modbus RTU and ASCII protocol, operator terminals and/or SCADA software can be connected.
