This function block (Present in the eLLabLogLib) allows the sending of notifications to a server Syslog. The Syslog server is a central point to which error messages and/or warning coming from the various hardware and software devices of a network (routers, switches, servers, printers, etc...) to allow a centralized control of all the devices.
The Syslog server, at each notification, can perform several operations: Ignore the message, Display it in the monitoring program, Send it to another Syslog server, Issue an alarm sound, Run a program, Send an Email, Store the message in a Database (eg MySQL), Store the message in a logfile, Run a script, etc..
