The LogicLab Compact CPU module represents the entry-level of the programmable controller (PLC) SlimLinefamily.
The device is equipped with 6 digital inputs, 4 digital outputs (relay or static) and 2 analog inputs (where provided) and allows, in the expandable versions, the management of the I/O SlimLineexpansion modules through the I2C™ expansion bus (Fast mode).
Programmable in the 5 languages provided by IEC61131-3, through the development tool LogicLaba completely free programming tool. Wide set of functions and function blocks, manual, online manual (beta) available.
Like the other CPUs in the family, it incorporates a high efficiency power supply, sized for the connection of up to 4 expansion modules (to be verified according to the connected module).
The device is equipped with web server integrated able to make available web pages of configuration and general information on the status of the system, as well as web pages fully configurable by the user (accessible via USB).
The module is engineered in a compact UL94 V-0 self-extinguishing and recyclable PC/ABS container; it is directly pluggable on DIN rails according to EN50022/IEC60715 standards and accepts supply voltages in the range 10-30Vdc.
This CPU is equipped with:
- 1 RS232 COM port
- 1 MiniUSB device port
- Fieldbus RS485 or CAN bus (Full versions)
- 6 Isolated digital inputs (1 counter 10 kHz)
- 2 Analog inputs 0-10Vdc (where applicable)
- 4 Isolated digital outputs (relay or static)
- 1 I2C™ expansion bus (Fast mode) (Expandable versions)
Thanks to the use of non-volatile memory in FRAM technology (ferroelectric RAM), it has been possible to eliminate the battery, thus minimizing maintenance and environmental impact at the end of the product's life and eliminating the constraints imposed by directives for the air transport of products containing batteries.
FRAM technology also guarantees a practically unlimited number of writing cycles, thus improving the reliability of the system, and a very low power consumption even during the writing phases.
The module is available in different versions:
- Lite Relay: 1 RS232C, 1 USB, 6 Digital In, 4 Out Relay,
- Base Relay/Static/SSR: 1 RS232C, 1 USB, 6 Digital In, 2 Analog In, 4 Out Relay/Stat./SSR, I2C Bus,
- Full RS485 Relay/Static/SSR: 1 RS232C, 1 USB, 6 Digital In, 2 Analog In, 4 Out Relay/Stat./SSR, I2C Bus, 1 RS485 isolated.
- Full CAN Relay: 1 RS232C, 1 USB, 6 Digital In, 2 Analog In, 4 Out Relay, I2C Bus, 1 CAN isolated.
The RS485 versions have the following drivers Fail-safe and high impedance, this allows you to connect up to 128 devices on the same network.
To connect the expansion modules to the CPU Unit, use the appropriate corded bus expansion cables (No. CBL074*000/CBL045*000) to be ordered separately.
I/O and power supply connections are made via removable screw connectors for easy maintenance.
The PLC SlimLine family has been conceived with the aim of safeguarding the investment in programming made by the Customer both in terms of portability to/from other platforms and in terms of protection against copying and fraudulent use of the applications developed (see this link).
A wide range oflibraries and function blocks (FB s) are available to perform a variety of functions.
There are also a number of FBs that are available as options, but for their use it is necessary to obtain an unlock code at the MID (Manufacturer ID) or DID (Device ID) level. Go to the list.
The device is also available as an OEM version, for those users who want to build extremely cost sensitive semi-custom equipment.
Thanks to the support of Modbus RTU and ASCII protocol, operator terminals and/or SCADA software can be connected.

I work with Silimline PLCs from long time ago.
I usually work with Omron, Siemens, ABB and other PLCs as my customers request. But everytime I can choose PLC, this is my choice.
It is really fast and reliable even for determistic motion control with servo axis via CANbus.
If one really knows programming IEC 6-1131, Logiclab is the best development enviroment. Simple to deploy. Simple to use. Very friendly and Totally Transparent. Besides it is available for free.
I love this Controller. Full of features for a very cheap price.
I love this Company. Always ready for answering on the forum and with a deep knowledge about everything you can imagine.
Thank you Elsist.

It is not easy to find a plc with these features for less than 100 euros with all the support and expertise of the manufacturer.
Brava Elsist and W the Made in Italy.
