The PRO1 single-phase energy meter is an advanced energy monitoring solution. It is equipped with an LCD display for data visualisation and is particularly suitable for measuring active energy and other parameters and for calculating energy costs.
The device is engineered in a DIN-rail-mounted housing, with an IP51 degree of protection and fitted with sealable covers (phase and neutral terminal). The instrument is also equipped with a pulse output, proportional to the active energy measured, and a RS485 (Modbus protocol) or M-bus communication port for remote monitoring.
The energy meter is available in versions:
- PRO1-Mb - Direct reading up to 45A, I/F M-Bus (Meterbus)
- PRO1-Mod - Direct reading up to 45A, I/F RS485 ModBus
The PRO1-Mb version is tested for use with the HWg-PWR gateway.
Typical application of electricity monitoring
In the European Union, the use of MID-certified energy meters "Measuring Instruments Directive" on "private" electricity networks is mandatory in the context of active energy billing based on consumption reading.
Typical examples include: campsites, holiday homes, student accommodation, office buildings, shopping malls, marinas, exhibition halls, electric vehicle charging stations, etc.
Being a certification at European level carried out by a Notified Body (NB), MID certification avoids legal metrological testing at national level.
An MID certified meter can therefore be used for active energy billing in all EU countries.
The directive also requires product certification according to the EN50470-1/ -3 standard, as well as design certification (Module B) and production process certification (Module D), by a Notified Body, in order to ensure product traceability and guarantee its metrological value, to protect consumers.
