The D5 series of radiomodems includes a range of radio equipment in both VHF and UHF free frequencies that differ in the type of interfaces and communicate with each other directly or through repeaters.
The available interfaces include: serial port, serial port plus Ethernet port, serial port plus various inputs and outputs both analog and digital.
Due to the presence of various types of inputs and outputs, the D5 series is also ideal in data acquisition and telecontrol applications.
OPERATING FREQUENCIES
The devices in this series are available in the following frequencies:
- VHF 169,400-169,475Mhz (D510 Series),
- UHF 868-870Mhz (D540 Series)
and are characterised by free use within the European Community.
The good sensitivity, combined with high dynamics, and high radio power (up to 500mW), allow operating distances of several kilometres.
OPERATING MODES
Different operating profiles programmable via software such as point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, broadcasting and Modbus in master/slave or multimaster modes make the D5 series a flexible product able to adapt to the most varied needs.
Routing tables make routing to the D5 units present in a network totally transparent, even in the presence of complex paths.
The Modbus profile makes the D5 series a real Modbus node to which up to eight external Modbus modules (sensors and/or actuators) can be connected via RS485, thus increasing the number of available inputs and outputs (power supply of additional Modbus modules provided directly by the device).
CONFIGURATION AND CONNECTIVITY
The D5 series units are fully configurable through software utilities or via web, thanks to the web server available in the master unit, and making information available on RS485 and Ethernet serial protocol.
Devices are supplied by default with serial baud rate: 9600, 8, N, 1 and configured for RS485 operation (D5x0-2XX versions).
WARNING. To configure in RS232 operation you must have the appropriate configuration program.
Limited to versions with RS485 port only, a USB-RS485 converter is also required for configuration.
SECURITY
Thanks to the 128-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) you can transfer data safely.
LOW CONSUMPTIONS
The configurable energy-saving functionality, thanks to the use of bistable relays for digital outputs and external sensor activation procedures only for as long as necessary, make the D5 series usable with battery power for long periods of time.
The configuration is carried out through a special free tool in Windows™ environment or through the integrated web server (version with Eth port).
Three different housings are available:

- Tin (aluminium or stainless steel) IP66/IP68
- Explosion proof (Atex and IECex certification)
